Music

Selection to enjoy: Bassoon Concerto in C Major, RV 466, by Antonio Vivaldi, performed by Preston Atkins. This upbeat piece is balanced by the bassoon’s low frequency range, which moves your brain to a state of relaxation.
Suggested use: Take a few moments to consider: is how you spend your time creating the life you want to lead? In the coming weeks, I’ll be focusing on how we use our time - our only irreplaceable resource.

Mindset to strengthen: Order
0-6 year-old children have a strong need for and inclination to order, both in their physical space and in their daily routines. Beyond this age, while the inclination to be orderly may fade, the strong need for order remains.
One area where many of us adults struggle is being orderly in how we spend our time.
Suggestions to try:
At home: Plan to do something this weekend that you have been delaying, whether that’s fun time with the family or a chore that you’ve been dreading.
At school: Summer will be over before you know it. Consider your fall classes. Do you need to strengthen your academics? Or pull back on overwhelming extras that serve to pad your college applications but exhaust you?
At work: Pick the single most important task that you must complete by the end of this week. Pull out your calendar to schedule time with yourself to get this task done.
